Souper Bowl of Caring
Next Sunday, February 5th, 140 million Americans will tune in to watch the Super Bowl football game. There will be parties with abundant food, friendship & fellowship. At the same time, there will be people worrying about staying warm, finding shelter and a warm meal. Please help our youth as they join with other young people around the country help those who are hungry and hurting. Our students will be holding out the soup pots after worship next Sunday to collect money for the Souper Bowl of Caring. Donations will be targeted 50/50 toward Hope Food Bank (who helps supply our Food Pantry & Feast of Grace) and Feed My Starving Children's Mobile Pack Event in Northwest Arkansas (on Feb. 25th). Challenge yourself to forgo the coffee shop or a lunch out and drop the amount you save into the soup pot. Please support our youth in this effort to love our neighbors! Football jerseys are appropriate attire for church next week!

The road to New Orleans is paved in... RED!
IMAGINE the palpable power of the Holy Spirit where more than 35,000 Lutheran Youth are gathered in one place! This July, some of our youth will have the opportunity to experience it first-hand, at the ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans. But the trip isn’t free, so we need your help. In Chinese and Asian societies, a red envelope is a monetary gift which is given during holidays or special occasions, making the Chinese New Year (tomorrow) the perfect occasion to kick off a “Red Envelope” fundraiser for our Youth Gathering team! This fundraiser starts today and will run through Valentine’s Day. Here’s how it works:
1. Choose a red envelope from our new Welcome Center, and take it home.
2. Take the 'surprise' out of the envelope and put it somewhere where you will see it every day (bathroom mirror, refrigerator, kitchen window, car, etc.). This is our gift to you in appreciation of your support.
3. Pray for us each day—that the Youth Gathering will be a meaningful, safe, and God-honoring experience for all involved!
4. Fill the envelope with a donation matching the number on the outside of the envelope. Return it by placing it in the Offering Plate during Sunday worship. Your donation is tax deductible.
